I have been watching a few games of lately. I am a little concerned about the way some announcers refer to the schools they are covering. For example when watching a game with Middle Tennessee State and Tennessee the announcers kept referring to Middle Tennessee State as Middle. What does that do to someone just turning to watch the game and to Middle Tennesse State fans? There was another game where the announcers were saying UW for the University of Washington. It seems to me that the English lanuage is taking a back seat to save a little time.
